* Supervise media planning managers as they develop and deploy relevant, impactful, multi-channel media strategies for all marketing campaigns
* Coach team in applying critical thinking and strategic frameworks to drive compelling media proposals, tailored to stakeholder needs and work with team to monitor industry/competitor/consumer trends and employ innovative strategies to support the Target brand and drive greater media spend effectiveness
* Ensure all campaign media strategies/proposals are tailored to drive change in the organization, and meet or exceed client expectations
* Coordinate with channel owners to ensure channel recommendations are being incorporated and synthesized into a single, cohesive media strategy and coordinate with key media agency partner (Haworth Marketing and Media) in leveraging agency assets and expertise
* Act as a liaison with Marketing category directors/managers and creative agencies to ensure tight coordination of media and messaging goals
* Partner with Media Insights team in employing advanced guest, market, competitive and media mix insights to build out more effective and efficient strategies, and to help build out a tops-down annual media strategy
Requirements
* Bachelor's degree in related field (MBA preferred) with ten to twelve years of experience, including mass media planning, marketing, as well as strategy (e.g. consulting, corporate strategy, marketing strategy, etc.)
* Four to five years of supervisory experience with a proven track record of motivating and achieving results
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including significant experience presenting to senior leadership
* Ability to effectively communicate to all levels of Target management
* Strategic orientation with excellent critical thinking and problem solving skills
* Strong decision making skills and ability to persuade and influence others
